Recently, one of our club members has been training Jodan no Kamae -- and he has become very good at it.
In order to be able to stand a better chance in ji-geiko I've been researching techniques to counter act his Jodan technique.
At first my search took to look for defensive techniques and ways to defend against Jodan. This article on defeating Jodan talks about some of the techniques which can be applied when facing a Jodan player.
Afterwards I thought that, in order to be able to defeat Jodan, it is essential to understand the strengths and weaknesses that come with this kamae. This article simply called Jodan no Kamae explains a bit more of the basics of assuming this stance.
Finally, probably the most important point is to continue practising over and over.
